Never Enough

& then it’s over
the tension
between
two bodies
relaxed to
deadweight
or
weightlessness

so much balancing on such a private act
a whole world at stake & at an instant
pure possibility: performing a becoming

& then it happens
the growth
& swell
a smallest life
tiny swimmer
eventually fills
the whole space
& leaves
the water
for
light

so much balancing on getting it right:
houses filled with equipment & implements:
toys & electronics & safety devices

& it all began
in an
irresistible
push
that is
never enough,
never enough,
never enough…
