the sun is just visible on the
North
shore of the Kaw
as the ‘eaglewebcam’
depicts this morning
on my computer desktop

but before,
up on my hill
early,early
no sun, no warmth
but thankful of the wind
behaving

according to my computer
the moon is wax-
ing gibbous, 93%
full, tonight & if the snow
comes, as predicted:
the glow, the glow

now, my students wrestle
images
without resistance
& I sit clicking this
electronic poem flashing
back & forth between pages

my desktop’s morning news
this poem
email from my wife (broken hearted)
regarding sad son’s crying
louder as she closed the daycare
door

this web of data,
emotion & imagery
personal & universal
a daily diversion
for millions the first
and last

word of the day: purgation
a ceremony,
purification or katharsis:
a clearing [of body or mind]
the sun is up;
no eagles.
