Chaos Query
Would I know, feel, comprehend my quarks on the bend
or atom smashing collisions, worlds ripped open,
some celestial fabric then?
It seems our universe resilient, flame retardant, waterproof,
and bulging ever outward and alternate realities exist,
and bounce like Al once announced
in Princeton fame and patent clerk aloof and genius hair.
He never figured, under windows softly lamp lit,
the rosebush in wifey’s front flowerbed
I’ve uprooted four times now, four years going there
never slowing its advance through mulch and mud
and neighbor kitten shit.
Somewhere, it’s 8 o’clock in April, outside phoning parents before
they skip the country fantastic for Asia, sweet
one last trip. So, I see a score
of silver slivers in the leaf gaps in my oaks, the suns
of a thousand worlds, and one frost-nipped rose bud snickering
at man alone on a Sycamore street.

Wow, you are on a role. This is a fine poem--even better than the last few--which were quite good too.
It all comes together in the final stanza:
So, I see a score of silver slivers in the leaf gaps in my oaks, the suns
of a thousand worlds, and one frost-nipped rose bud snickering
at man alone on a Sycamore street.
I want those lines to be mine--and the experience that made them!
I agree with Mutt, and the last image is particularly strong.
