Valentine's Day
Snow falls on Kansas as we wake up
together
once again in new territory.
How many lands have we entered
side by side--
countries exotic,
generational minefields--
our marriage one of the last casualties.
Yet somehow, across
all those seas, flying in the dark,
hanging on to the shards of our dreams,
we alight here ready to unpack again.
Your steady faith
has been my passport,
your presence the tour guide
who waits patiently at the latest world wonder.

I think this is great--effortlessly manages to be a love poem while also realistic...(easier said than done!) I like the imagery of moving, the journey together!
home as travel--i like that very much,
how far a marriage--a relationship, takes us--even under one roof.
